An Invitation
If you’re here for the first time, welcome.
I’m Jackie.
I’m a yoga teacher, Reiki Master, studio manager, lifelong student and someone who has spent the last few years learning that life rarely unfolds the way we expect it to.
I am not here to teach you how to have the perfect morning routine, convince you to buy something or pretend I’ve figured life out.
I believe there are people quietly walking through the world who know, deep down, that they weren’t meant to live someone else’s version of a meaningful life.
People who question the rules they’ve inherited.
People who are willing to change their minds, begin again and keep growing.
People who choose authenticity over approval.
People who refuse to let the hardest thing that ever happened to them become the only thing that defines them.
I call those people Radiant Rebels.
Not because they’re loud.
Not because they’re fearless.
But because they choose to keep showing up as themselves, even when it would be easier not to.
Radiant Rebel isn’t just the name of my business.
It’s the lens through which I see the world.
It’s the community I hope to build.
And maybe, if something here resonates with you, it’s a little bit of who you are too.
So… why Radiant Rebel 8187?
Why does any of this matter so much to me?
The answer begins with my son, Carter.
Three years ago, Carter died.
There isn’t a sentence that makes that easier to read and there isn’t a version of this story where everything suddenly makes sense.
Losing him changed me in ways I never could have imagined.
It changed what I valued.
It changed what I noticed.
It changed how I chose to spend my time, as well as where and with whom I was willing to share my energy.
Life kept moving.
I walked away from the career I’d known for years.
I completed yoga teacher training.
I began teaching.
I became a Reiki Master.
I stepped into leadership roles.
I built a business I never imagined I’d have.
I laughed.
I made friends.
From the outside, life continued.
Inside, I was learning how to become someone I had never planned to be.
Radiant Rebel began taking shape.
Not as a business plan.
As a realization.
That life is unimaginably fragile.
That authenticity isn’t a luxury.
That waiting for “someday” is a gamble none of us actually understand.
That every single one of us is offered countless opportunities to either live by default or live by intention.
Somewhere along the way, I realized Radiant Rebel wasn’t something I was creating.
It was something I was becoming.
The “8187” in Radiant Rebel 8187 is the number of days I got to be Carter’s mom.
Not because I want to reduce his life to a number.
But because every one of those days mattered.
He’s woven into everything I build, not because I want my life to revolve around loss but because love doesn’t end when a life does.
One day, when the time is right, I’ll tell you about Carter.
For now, it’s enough to know that he changed the way I move through the world.
Because of him, Radiant Rebel came to be.
This isn’t a blog about yoga.
Or Reiki.
Or grief.
It’s about paying attention.
To ourselves.
To each other.
To the quiet moments that shape us long before we realize they have.
Life has a funny way of teaching us exactly what we need, though not always where we expect it.
I’ve found those lessons in yoga.
On the water.
In the forest.
In conversations with strangers.
In heartbreak.
In laughter.
And in moments so ordinary I almost missed them.
That’s what you’ll find here.
Because I don’t believe extraordinary lives are made from extraordinary days.
I think they’re built from ordinary moments that we actually notice.
If there’s one thing I hope you find here, it’s not answers.
It’s permission.
Permission to trust yourself a little more.
To question the path you’ve been told to follow.
To create a life that feels like yours.
To remember that being radiant has nothing to do with perfection and being a rebel doesn’t require rebellion for its own sake.
Sometimes the most rebellious thing we can do is become fully ourselves.
If that sounds like you…
Welcome.
I have a feeling you’re a Radiant Rebel, too.
